Summary
“You cannot go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
From time immemorial, we have been taught to follow certain societal norms. But are they always right? No! It’s time for everyone to rise up, take the challenge, and change them.
Scene 1
Ragini comes to Priya, nearly in tears. Priya, baffled, asks her what happened. What Ragini reveals shocks her.
Both were students pursuing their PhDs under the guidance of the renowned Professor AKB. He was a highly talented and well-respected professor, known for his exceptional teaching skills. The girls had felt lucky to be chosen to complete their theses under him.
But Ragini explained that the professor had made inappropriate advances toward her, and when she refused, he threatened never to approve her thesis. Priya’s mind was flooded with questions—who would believe them? He was already so respected and renowned. What would happen to all their years of hard work? And most importantly, what would people say?
Scene 2
Meenakshi was excited about Saraswati Puja at her college this year. She had borrowed an orange organza saree from her mother and dressed up for the big day. Upon arriving at the college, she was surprised by the large crowd—this year, students were allowed to bring their friends and relatives. Her cousin brother accompanied her.
While navigating through the crowd toward the idol, she felt a strange touch on her back. A boy had brushed past her deliberately. When she turned to look at him, he dared to jeer at her.
What should Meenakshi do? Should she confront him? What would the teachers say?
Scene 3
It was a grand occasion for the Malhotra family. The Bhatias had come to discuss a marriage proposal for their youngest daughter, Preeti, a brilliant student and a pilot with a renowned airline.
The to-be groom’s family was treated lavishly, and after exchanging pleasantries, the groom’s father finally asked, “What will you give your daughter and son-in-law?” Preeti sat there silently, wondering—why should her parents need to give anything? Didn’t she earn enough herself? Weren’t the Bhatias wealthy enough already?
Scene 1 – What Happened
Priya and Ragini decided to report the incident to the Head of the Department. Once they did, other victims also began to come forward. It turned out Ragini wasn’t the only one—the professor was a repeat offender. Until now, no one had dared to formally complain for fear of losing years of hard work. The professor was suspended, and the HoD promised strict action against him.
Scene 2 – What Happened
Meenakshi marched up to the boy and delivered a sharp slap across his cheek. As she raised her hand for a second strike, the teachers intervened. They escorted the boy out for disciplinary action, issuing him a strict warning to stay away from the college. He turned out to be an outsider, there to cause trouble.
Scene 3 – What Happened
Preeti spoke up, bluntly refusing to marry into any family that asked for dowry. Her parents supported her decision wholeheartedly, and they asked the Bhatias to leave.
So…
Be mindful of every word we speak and every action we take in our daily lives. These decisive moments have the power to change not only our lives but also society at large. We must embrace the mindset needed to bring about this change, so every story has a happy ending. Yahi soch to badalni hai…
