A sharp chill went down her spine,
As the clock struck quarter to nine…
It was time he would be home already,
And the food was not yet ready…
The table was not laid yet,
It was long before that the sun had set…
Her shivers told her sad story,
All she could do was just hurry….
As she laid the table and put the glasses in place,
Her eyes on the clock and she fastened her pace…
Five more minutes to go and he will be there, She washed her face and tied her hair…
Ding dong ding dong went the door bell,
all she said to herself was “welcome to hell”… Shivering with fear she opened the door,
The officer said ” sorry your husband is no more.”
She was in great dilemma,
Her brain happy while heart in trauma……
Now no one to hurt her for dirty plate,
No one for whom she has to wait….
No one to punch her nose again,
No one she ever met so insane….
No more whacks on her back,
The walls free of banging crack…
Swollen forehead wont turn around heads,
She won’t be any more gossip of the maids… laughing around or talking to strangers,
Will no longer be signs of dangers….
All the old scars will now be healing,
With no new marks to add to scary feeling…. She had suffered and gone through lots,
Each could be retold by the broken pots…
It started from the day of her marriage,
Which even lead to her miscarriage….
Yet she bore all the violence,
With just patience and silence…..
She is alone today and will be tomorrow, Should she be happy or cry in sorrow….
She just lost her husband,
Who was the only earning hand…
But life has to go on,
She has to move on…
With tears in her eyes,
relief in heart and no cries,
She headed towards a new beginning,
No more pain and no more crying….
Ones who suffer domestic violence,
And bear everything with silence,
Are full of pain and heart broken,
Death also comes to them as bonus token… Stop the violence and spread love,
Brings happiness smile is the only curve…
