World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD), celebrated annually on 10 September, is organized by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO). The event represents a global commitment to focus attention on suicide prevention.
The seven-year-old boy stood still as he saw his own relatives fight,
No one to take his responsibility, no one to make his future bright,
His parents had a big fight that turned to suicide,
He was orphaned within minutes with a future in fright,
What fault was that boy at, who couldn’t even understand what happened,
Selfish parents’ suicide led his future darkened…

Ready for another story of suicide,
What fault was that mother you decide,
The inconsolable mother cried as she held her dead son in her lap,
Insane she couldn’t bear the mishap,
Police confirmed the death by suicide hanging from the fan,
“The ragging I couldn’t bear,” he wrote “eventually ending my life is was what
I can.”
Nine months in her womb, twenty years in the world, the mum nourished him
every day,
With the never-ending pain she went forever insane, What fault was hers that
for the son’s suicide, she had to pay…..
Ever thought about the depressed wife who was left behind,
After the husband decided to end his life and suicide,
The poor financial conditions and loans made him end his life,
Never thinking about the wife and kids who had to now strive,
For food, for shelter, for livelihood, they had to struggle,
Between emotions and life now they had to juggle….
A story of that father who lost his daughter who jumped off the railway track,
Her body remains, he collected from the track in a sack,
She carried a letter which read “I loved him and cannot live without him”
“He ditched me. Please tell me what was my sin?”
Tears rolled down the father’s eyes as he too felt ditched,
Even after loving and caring for eternity, now, his daughter couldn’t be reached,
Wishing his love was more than the heartbreak she suffered,
No courage, no love, no hope now he could gather,
Shattered, disheartened, torn to pieces with heart wreckage,
He stood collecting the pieces while his heart ached…
Many more stories told, untold or we could relate to,
Then why don’t we help and give our ear to,
When they need us, they really do need us to hear to support,
It’s that simple…Why can’t we adhere to and escort,
Why don’t they understand suicide is not an option in anyway,
People left behind are always left suffering and at bay,
Never lose hope, never be afraid to fight back,
Courage is all you need to hold your head high and stay back,
We are there to hear is all they need to hear for help,
Please be the reason for someone’s smile and not yelp…
