A Letter to the Sky

A tender, whimsical ode to the ever-changing sky — part muse, part mystery — this letter blends wonder, longing, and quiet love in a lyrical conversation between earth and the heavens.

O dear sky, do you hide a beautiful heaven behind your Nimbus frills?

Or in the hoods of your blue, black and orange cloaks?

O You starry beauty! You make poets of the common man, and make the paint brush dance

I love the rainbow tiara that you often wear,

The Picturesque view of colourful kites embracing you and birds playing in your arms

The Sun and You make quite a pair together,

and yet you ditch it to go dark and make your diamonds sparkle.

You are an enchantress who casts a spell on the sea

For whenever you wear the full Moon, the spellbound tides raise themselves as if yearning to inch closer to you

Lady, please take care when we, the people on earth, send smoke and dust your way.

For there are some that like you grey.

Oh my flawless muse, I wish you drew a polar bear for me on your canvass tonight

Or maybe had let gone of a star so that I could make a wish

But alas! the oil lamp is flickering, signalling me to put my pen to rest,

slumber beckons me and I shall oblige

But you be there, we shall meet again on the other side of the night.
