Way back in 2014, Sheryl Sandberg was in India. Sheryl is the Founder of LeanIn.Org and the former COO of Meta Platforms.  I had the good fortune of hearing her speak at an event. Everything that she said was highly inspiring, but one statement has remained with me ever since. She said, “It is the ultimate luxury to combine passion and contribution. It’s also a very clear path to happiness.”

A few years later, I met Kshipra Jha. A luck-by-chance meeting with her in a lift and an animated discussion on work, motherhood and life in general that organically ensued, made me realize the true meaning of Sheryl’s words.

The first thing that you will notice about Kshipra is her zest for life. It is rare that we come across a personality so grounded and rock solid at the same time. A bundle of energy and positivity, it seems like nothing is impossible for her. She is not just self-motivated; she will ensure that everyone around stays motivated!  

Her passion for cars and dogs…..

Besides her zeal, zest and passion for life, Kshipra is passionate about cars and dogs. She has turned her passion into a profession and has scripted her own story of entrepreneurial prowess, with an impactful contribution towards society at large. 

Leaving behind her successful corporate career, Kshipra took a plunge into entrepreneurship and began Classic Car Rental Services in 2014. Classic was started with the intent of improving the corporate commute experience. Along with building a decent turnover Classic’s USP has been improving the last-mile experience.

Not just any chauffeur…

The chauffeurs are treated as brand ambassadors and a lot of weightage is given to training them on soft skills. Being a safe driver is non-negotiable but beyond that Kshipra’s goal is to build a network of high-quality chauffeurs.

Evaluating and implementing technology interventions to improve punctuality and service delivery are some of the other KPIs which Kshipra drives.

With Classic, Kshipra is not just changing the traditional narrative in the vehicle rental space with her drive and passion but also building brands that have earned credibility and respect among clients. She has been touching lives by giving employability to women and youth and empowering them to be financially independent.

Inclusivity is the key to the development

In a country where the contribution of women in the world of transportation and mobility services is not sufficiently acknowledged, Kshipra is striving to achieve a safer, better, more inclusive and more sustainable future in mobility for all.

If not found around her cars, Kshipra will be found around dogs. In 2021, she witnessed that many of her friends, peers and others were struggling to find a decent place to keep their pets when the pet parents were away. That’s when the idea of Stay Pawsitive came up.

But this time, Kshipra did not want to convert her passion into a profession. Rather, she wanted her passion to remain a passion, which is why Stay Pawsitive (SP) is not just any dog boarding but a true ‘home away from home’ for fur babies.

Kshipra has been instrumental in building a team of passionate individuals who are supporting her in this cause. In no time, Stay Pawsitive has gained a lot of positive traction and trust among pet lovers. With the core being on delivering a great experience, Kshipra wants to make Stay Pawsitive a source of giving back to human’s best friends, the paw-some dogs.

Stay Pawsitive comes with a fresh perspective of providing not just a safe and hygienic place but a personalised and satisfying experience for both the pets and the pet parents. After all, trusting someone with your fur babies is not at all easy. Led by someone like Kshipra, the SP team has successfully earned that love, trust, and respect in the past two years. 

At a time when we women are so overwhelmed with the myriad roles that we play every day, Kshipra juggles everything so perfectly and wears multiple hats with such élan. This is not because she doesn’t get swamped, exhausted, exasperated, or fall sick like any of us. It is because she has learnt to prioritise her choices. She makes her choices, stands by them, and takes responsibility for her own actions. This is the key to her ever-smiling and positive demeanour.

And when you ask her about the secret to her successful career, contagious optimism, and effortless happiness, she will simply smile and say “If you build it with love, you will build better. If you love what you build, money will follow. This is life. This is happiness.”
